Swarmbytes is a solution provided for large-scale users that have a lot of IP addresses (10+) in their possession.
The introduction of such a solution, in a way, separates all of the Honeygain user community into two rather distinct groups - regular Honeygain users and Swarmbytes users. This was done due to the fact that most Honeygain users use less than 10 devices on their accounts, thus, large-scale users, who have a large number of devices at their disposal, impact the earnings of all other regular users as huge numbers of devices lead to the disproportionate amount of traffic for those accounts. With such a decision, the end goal is improved traffic distribution - better potential earnings for regular Honeygain users and stable income for Swarmbytes users (as they get a fixed rate per IP shared).
What does it mean for you, as a user?
Since the 1st of March, 2021, the limit of active devices for each Honeygain account is set to 10 devices. You can still have more than 10 devices connected, but the infrastructure will not use more than 10 concurrently active devices: the rest will lay idle. Also, please note that the limit of one device per IP address still remains.
If you have 10 or fewer devices on your Honeygain account: you do not need to do anything! Keep up the good work and enjoy the earnings!
If you have 10 or more devices on your Honeygain account: you would need to apply for a Swarmbytes account via the Swarmbytes website. Please note that this solution is catered to users who have a large number (250+) of IP addresses at their disposal.
